SACH Feet (Wooden) are a commonly used type of prosthetic foot in the field of lower-limb prosthetics, especially in developing settings due to their simplicity, durability, and low cost. The SACH foot consists of a solid wooden keel that provides structural strength and stability during the stance phase of gait. It has no articulated ankle joint; instead, a cushioned heel made of rubber or microcellular material allows limited compression at heel strike, simulating plantarflexion. The wooden keel extends toward the forefoot to support weight-bearing and smooth rollover during mid-stance. The entire assembly is covered with a cosmetic rubber shell to resemble the shape of a natural foot. SACH feet are best suited for individuals with low activity levels, such as elderly users or those who walk primarily on even surfaces. While reliable and easy to maintain, they do not provide energy return or adaptability to uneven terrain
