A Fit Kit Lock Rod is a prosthetic accessory used with pin-lock (locking liner) suspension systems. It helps securely connect a prosthetic limb to the user’s residual limb. What it is The lock rod (or locking pin) is a small metal rod that attaches to the end of a prosthetic liner (usually a gel or silicone liner). When the user puts the prosthesis on, the rod slides into a lock mechanism inside the prosthetic socket and clicks in place. What a “Fit Kit” means A fit kit usually includes: Lock rods of different lengths or sizes Sometimes different thread types Tools for adjustment This allows the prosthetist to choose the best-fitting rod for comfort, limb length, and socket depth.
